60-year-old Bahraini national 'rapes' 25-year-old at Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 60-year-old Bahraini national allegedly raped a 25-year-old woman and burnt her with cigarette butts after she rejected his marriage proposal at Chandrayanagutta in Hyderabad.

The incident occurred a few days ago but came to light on Sunday night when the victim approached the police.

Chandrayanagutta Police immediately swung into action and registered a case of rape, cheating, wrongful confinement and threatening against the accused Ibrahim Shukurullah of Bahrain.

The victim told the police that a week ago, Mohd Saber alias Volta Saber informed the family that a person was ready to purchase their house and asked them to come to Nabeel Colony, Kothapet, Salala.

She along with her elder sister went to his house, where Saber introduced them to Ibrahim Shukurullah. During discussion, Ibrahim proposed to marry her. However she allegedly rejected the offer and left the house.

Later in the night, the victim suddenly went missing. Family thought that she might have gone to Saber’s house. When she did not return for two days, the victim’s sister went to Saber’s house to inquire about her sibling. However, Saber’s wife Sameena allegedly locked her up.

After two days, when she was set free, she called up her brother and they both went to the address where Ibrahim had held their sister. When inquired, Ibrahim allegedly told them that Saber had sold the girl to him.

Sensing trouble, Ibrahim ran away. However the brother-son duo took away his passport and brought the victim home. On inquiry, the victim told the family that Ibrahim not only raped her but burnt her with cigarette butts.

Inspector at Chandrayanagutta police station Rudhra Bhasker said investigation has begun and they are in the process of collecting evidence.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim has also approached police alleging that his passport has been stolen.
