62 drunk drivers lost driving licences in the city

As many as 2,815 drunk drivers were caught by the Hyderabad traffic police in the drunken drive checks conducted in the month of June 2019. A city court awarded imprisonment to 480 drivers, while suspending licenses of 62 persons, including two of them losing their licenses permanently. The Court also imposed fine amount of Rs 61,35,400 on traffic violators.
Two licences were suspended for six years and one for 5 years, 11 licences for 3, 4 for 2 years, 3 for one year, 36 for 6 months and 3 licenses were suspended for one month respectively.
One driver was awarded 10 days imprisonment, seven were sentenced for 7 days in prison, 12 for 4 days, 19 for 3 days, 142 for 2 days and 42 for one day. 257 drivers were sentenced till the rising of the court. In addition, 10 persons were sentenced to prison for 2 days for driving without a license.
