Chase against lockdown violator, cost Hyderabad cop his safety

Hyderabad : Chasing a lockdown violator who tried to give cops a slip, proved crucial to a police constable at Dundigal, on the city outskirts on Saturday. Constable T Ramachandraiah sustained severe injuries on his head slipped into a unconsciousness.

According to Dundigal police officials, constable T Ramachandraiah and 2 of his colleagues, were posted at check post in Bahadurpally village on April 11th. Four of them were deployed at different junctions. While on duty Ramachandraiah noticed an unidentified person speeding on a two-wheelers approaching towards the check-post. However the man on seeing the cops, took the opposite direction and tried to escape.

Constable Ramachandraiah found his this suspicious, the latter took help of a passerby and tried to nab the biker. As they ( referring to the cop) were chasing the unidentified biker, the rider lost control and the bike hit a stone. The duo fell while Ramachandraiah hit against a road, he sustained severe injuries.

The cop was found lying in a pool of blood , before he was rushed to Mallareddy hospital. Later in the day he was shifted to Hyderabad for treatment.

According to the doctors, the constable's condition is critical. Meanwhile, Cyberabad police commissioner VC Sajjanar has assured support to Ramachandraiah and his family.
