Hyderabad: Medipally Police on Monday house arrested Bharatiya Janata Party’s Adilabad MP Soyam Bapurao at Navayuva Apartments, Chenna Reddy Enclave, Peerjadiguda near Uppal, Hyderabad.
Talking to Newsmeter, G Raghu Ram, Sub Inspector of Police, Medipally said, “MP Bapurao was house arrested in order to prevent law and order problem in Adilabad’s Armoor where Bapurao was invited to participate in a felicitation program.”
According to Medipally police officials, on Tuesday, at 11 am, a suo moto case was registered through Telangana State Police B Anji Reddy Inspector of Police, Medipally PS in which he stated that “the Adivasi Nayakapodu Seva Sangam” has decided to conduct meeting for felicitation to all the Adivasi MLAs and MPs of Telangana State on Tuesday at 10:00 am to 05:00 pm in Kshatriya Function Hall, Armoor. They applied for permission to the Assistant Commissioner of Police, Armoor Division, Nizamabad Commissionarate, but the permission was rejected by the ACP-Armoor Division vide Proceeding No: 421/Meeting/ACP-AMR/2019, on Tuesday. Also requested to Adilabad MP Soyam Bapu Rao, not to participate in the above felicitation ceremony as there is likely hood of breach of peace. He has been taken into custody under preventive measure and made house arrest at his Flat No: 401, 4th Floor, Navayuva Apartments, Chenna Reddy Enclave, Peerjadiguda to prevent any untoward incident. Hence, the FIR is registered under suo-moto case 151 Cr.PC.
