Aditya to be the first Thackeray to contest in elections; discloses assets worth Rs 16 crore

Mumbai: Aditya Thackeray, son of Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray and grandson of late Balasaheb Thackeray, is contesting the Maharashtra Assembly elections from Worli.

Aditya is the first member of his family to contest in the elections. In 54 years of Shiv Sena’s existence in Maharashtra, no one from the Thackeray family had debuted in electoral polls until now. Aditya entering mainstream politics has raised eyebrows of other political bigwigs, which will lead to an exciting turn in Maharashtra politics

On Thursday (October 3), the Sena scion Aditya filed his nomination form and disclosed assets close to Rs 16 crore and no liabilities of any kind. He has listed business as his profession and income from rent and profit from his firm as his sources. He has movable assets worth Rs 11.38 crore and immovable assets worth Rs 4.67 crore, including jewels studded with hundreds of diamonds and a BMW car.
