Army announces roads closure for 3 days in Secunderabad

Hyderabad: The local military authorities have once again announced to close roads falling in their jurisdiction citing security reasons ahead of the Independence day.

In an official statement issued on 11th August, the LMA said, ' The alert level has been enhanced across the country in view of security situation prevailing with the Independence Day celebrations. Military establishments are in the target list of anti-national elements. Keeping in view the enhanced security alert, road closure for Secunderabad military establishment will be effective from 4 AM of 14 August 2020 to 6 PM of 16 August 2020.

The roads which will be closed are Residency road, Hislop road, Amherst road, Gurbaksh Marg, Rajendra Singhji road, Lake line ranges road, Barr road, Yapral road, Gough road, Wellington road, AOC road, Mornington road and Entrenchment road.

However, Ambulances, School buses, Police vehicles, government Officials on duty, state/ District Administration officials on duty, Medical cases being transported in private vehicles for medical help, Funeral processions for burial/ cremation within cantonment & Essential service vehicles will be permitted after carrying out due security checks and establishing identity. The citizens are requested to cooperate with military authorities for maintenance of high-security alert' the Army said.
