Amit Shah to attend Dikshant Parade as chief guest on August 24

Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah will serve as the chief guest for the Dikshant passing out parade of Indian Police Service (IPS) probationers and 77 Regular Recruiters (RR) which will be held at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy (SVPNPA) on August 24.

A total of 12 lady IPS probationers listed in 77 RR batch. Of the 12 probationers, five graduated in engineering, three candidates in M.Sc, two with a medical background, and two hold BA degree.

“Apart from the basic training course for IPS officers, the Academy also conducts compulsory Mid Career Training Programmes (MCTP) for officers of Superintendent of Police (SP), Deputy Inspector General, IG/Additional Dg levels of the IPS,” said SVPNPA in an official statement.

SVPNPA received the first Union Home Minister’s Trophy for the Best Police Training Institution in the country in the inception year of the award in 2016.

SVPNPA’s 156 probationers of 2018 batch include 15 foreign officer trainees from Nepal, Bhutan and Maldives and also 103 probationers of the 2017 batch. They attended the Independence Day parade on August 15.
