Angry drunk woman throws 2-year-old in front of moving bus

Balu and Soni along with their child Jyothi, 2, reside at Bhagyanagar colony in Kukatpally. The couple made a living by collecting plastic and scrap and sold them to dealers on a daily basis. During the day they would go around collecting scrap from Kukatpally and surrounding areas. In the evening they would consume alcohol and sleep on the footpath or in bus shelters.

On Monday night, they slept on a footpath in Bhagyanagar colony. On Tuesday morning they quarrelled and an angry Soni threw the child on the main road in front of a moving bus. The bus driver saw the child and halted the bus. Soni immediately ran to the child picked her up and started throwing the child to the ground.

Passersby who had initially thought that the child had accidentally come on to the road, found Soni's behaviour towards the child rude and they beat Soni up. Police teams rushed to the spot and controlled the situation. The woman and child were shifted to a care home.
