Mumbai : Another big jolt for Maharashtra Congress, Former Minister Kripashankar Singh resigns from the party, will join BJP. Kripashankar Singh, an influential leader of the Maharashtra Congress, resigned from the party today evening.

He submitted his resignation to the Congress Maharashtra in-charge Mallikarjun Kharge in Delhi, confirmed his close aide on Tuesday

KS Singh was MoS Home in Late Vilasrao Deshmukh cabinet. He was seen as a leader of North Indians in Mumbai.

The rise of Sanjay Nirupam and his loss in 2014 elections from Kalina eroded his mass base among the North Indians.

He is likely to join BJP, and according to sources he may be given a ticket for his wife from the Kalina seat.
