Araku MLA falls at cops feet, praises him for his services during lockdown

Visakhapatnam: Araku MLA and YSRCP leader Chetti Palguna touched the feet of a police officer in Araku town, praising his efforts and dedication during the lockdown. The assistant sub-inspector, in turn, saluted him.

The MLA told people that the police were ignoring their own safety and protecting them from the Corona virus. They were seldom going home to inquire about the welfare of their family members, he said.

Mr Palguna told NewsMeter that the DGP had issued orders to remove more than 55 police officers from the roads and assign them to stations and control rooms. The ASI, however, told his superiors that though he was 56 years old he was in good mental and physical health and could do the fieldwork. "It is surprising that the ASI has been working round-the-clock. I was moved by his dedication and hence fell at his feet,’’ the MLA said.
