‘Aswathama’ gets highest pre-release business for Naga Shourya

Hyderabad: Naga Shourya is considered to be one of the most promising actors in Telugu cinema. Currently, the actor is pinning hopes on his upcoming film, ‘Aswathama’. The trailer which was released by star director Puri Jagannadh has already clocked over 5 million views on YouTube and has garnered appreciation from all quarters.

The latest news is that the pre-release business of the film is finalised at 15 crores. This is the highest in Naga Shourya’s career so far. With a positive buzz generated for the pre-release business, the makers are also confident with the outcome of the film.

Naga Shourya, who is known for his boy next door looks and soft roles in films like ‘Chalo’ and ‘Oh Baby’ is trying to break the image with ‘Aswathama’ where he will be seen in some intense action sequences. The actor is also credited for the story of the film.

Going by trailer, the film looks like a mysterious thriller where Naga Shourya was seen connecting the dots to unravel missing cases of women and their deaths.

The film stars Mehreen Pirzada, Sargun Kaur, Posani Krishna Murali in prominent roles. Usha Mulupuri is bankrolling the project under Ira creations and Ramana Teja, a debutant is directing it. Sricharan Pakala is composing the tunes, while Ghibran is scoring the background score for the film. The makers have released the title track of the film on Saturday evening.

With a good hype created among the trade circles and the general audience, Naga Shourya is hoping that ‘Aswathama’ will revive his fortune sand put him back in the reckoning. The film is slated to release on January 31st. On the future front, the actor will work with actor-director Avasarala Srinivas. The duo worked together earlier in ‘Oohalu Gusagusalaade’ and ‘Jyo Achyuthananda’ which fared well at the box office.
