Hyderabad: In a drunken brawl Biggboss Telugu 3 winner Rahul Sipligunj was attacked with beer bottles on Wednesday night at Prism Pub in Gachibowli of Hyderabad.

Rahul suffered minor injuries on nose and head and was treated at a private hospital. He was later discharged. Rahul told police that associates of an MLA from Ranga Reddy attacked him with beer bottles as he objected to the misbehaviour towards two women who came with him to the pub.

Gachibowli Sub Inspector of Police Y Surender Reddy said,"Around 11.45 pm on Wednesday drunken brawl started. Rahul was alleging that he was beaten on the head with beer bottles by one of them with whom he had an argument. There are two women who claimed as TV journalists with him. He refused to file a police complaint so we haven't registered a case," Police are yet to register case regarding attack on Rahul Sipligunj in Prism pub.

Surender Reddy said that the police took CCTV camera recordings of the drunken drawl from the pub. A video showing the attack went viral. The video shows three to four unidentified persons mobbing up the victim believed to be Rahul Sipligunj and hitting him with beer bottles.

Gachibowli police said no General dairy entry was made regarding the incident in the police station. "We were on patrol duty and immediately intervened after the fight. Otherwise it would have become big," said Surender Reddy.

Rahul Sipligunj is a playback singer, songwriter and musician. Rahul worked for a few Tollywood films. A native of Dhoolpet Rahul started his career in 2013.

July 2018 Rahul was involved in another controversy. Rahul Sipligunj was caught driving car in drunk condition near Jubilee Hills Road Number 36.

His vehicle was seized then. Rahul was alleged then of not cooperating with the police and abused the cops. Rahul's alcohol content recorded then was 175 mg per 100 ml. Rahul Sipligunj then denied misbehaving with the cops.
