Ali Shorab was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police, though the exact reason for the action could not be immediately ascertained. Twitterati, however, sees the arrest as an attempt to curb freedom of speech.
In a recent Twitter post, Shorab shared his views with #IWantMasjidBack, which is trending with 25K tweets. The police picked Shorab after these tweets. #IWantMasjidBack is gaining traction as some tweeple disagree with the SC verdict. They are of the view that a temple shouldn't come up on the land where Babri Masjid once stood.
#ą¤ą¤µą„ą¤øą„_ą¤ą¤¾ą¤°ą¤¤_ą¤ą„ą¤”ą¤¼ą„ (Leave India Owaisi) is also trending in the second position with over 53K tweets. Hyderabad MP Asaddudin Owaisi has said that he is not in acceptance with the SC's Ayodhya judgment. The trend started after his statement went viral.
Addressing a press conference hours after the SC ruling, Owaisi had said, "I pray from a Masjid from 1528 onwards, and you stop me from praying in 1949, and then you say āhereās a piece of landā? No, please donāt demean me. This was a legal fight for the Masjid. Even the Supreme Court agreed that the Masjid had been demolished. I appeal to the people of this nation; if they are the true citizens of this country, please try to understand what we are trying to say. This nation is turning into a Hindu nation. If this country stands for a religion, then itās bad for the majority community only.ā Since then, there has a Twitter trend related to him every day.
A Hindi Bigg Boss 13 contestant also grabbed a spot as around 100k tweets piled up with #WeLoveAsimRiaz. For most viewers, Asim Riaz is their favourite inmate of the Bigg Boss house.
