Bahadurpura SI beat me over false allegation, Bahadurpura man

Hyderabad: In an alleged case of police high-handedness, a youngster was severely beaten up by a sub-inspector of the Bahadurpura police station inside the station premises on 21 July.

Mohd. Aziz was called to the police station in connection with a quarrel that took place in front of his mobile repairing store a few days ago. When he went to the station, the sub-inspector, Madhu, beat him up. The cop did not allow him to go to a hospital even as he started bleeding from his nose, claimed Aziz’s brother Kareem.

According to sources, Aziz runs a mobile repair shop at Bahadurpura. A few days ago, two persons started a fight in front of the shop. Aziz intervened and sent them away. On Tuesday, one of the persons involved in the fight lodged a police complaint regarding the incident, following which the sub-inspector asked Aziz to come to the police station for an inquiry. “The officer beat me severely. Others told him that I was not involved in the fight yet he continued to beat me,” said Aziz.

Aziz’s brother Kareem and their friends rushed to the police station only to see Aziz bleeding from the nose. “They are not even allowing us to take him to the hospital. He is bleeding badly,” Kareem told media persons.

When contacted, the Bahadurpura police officers denied the allegations as false and claimed they called Aziz to the police station because a complaint had been filed against him. The complainant had alleged that Aziz, along with another person, had beaten him up. After the inquiry, they were sent off
