Balanagar police arrest notorious thief recover Rs 53L, 20 thulas gold

Hyderabad: The sleuths of Central Crime Station Balanagar under Cyberabad Commissionerate apprehended a habitual offender Mekala Vamshidhar Reddy. He is accused in a house burglary offence in Alwal area. Cops also arrested, Mekala Pushpalatha, Kapilavai Shiva Kumar, Kasthala Laxmi, Narsimha Bargav Rama and recovered cash of Rs. 53,35,300, 20 thulas of gold ornaments and one property document worth Rs. 8,50,000 which the accused purchased stolen cash.

On 3rd July, Bala nagar police officials received a complaint about a house burglary. The victim's family has gone to their native place in Medak, on their return they noticed that the main door-lock broken. The family their clothes scattered on the floor and the wooden cupboard broken. The family lost 43 thus of gold and net cash Rs. 57,20,000 lakh The complainant informed the police of the same.

Investigation led to one Mekala Vamshidhar Reddy, a habitual and single offender.

According to the police, The accused, a school drop out, initially began stealing tyres from parked vehicles with his friend Datthu. Later he was involved in theft of electronic items from cars. "Vamshidhar Reddy turned into habitual offender His family necked him away due to his criminal nature. Seven years ago he married one Pushpa Latha and started staying with her at Medchal. Few years later he was booked for rape under Saroornagar Police station. He was released in June 2020 from Khammam Jail.

The Bala Nagar police personnel have arrested five including the main accused.
