Bees attack Minister, MLAs in Kurnool

Kurnool: Water Resources Minister P Anil Kumar Yadav, five MLAs and activists of YSR Congress Party suffered injuries when they were attacked by honey bees near Bhanakacherla area under Pamulapadu Mandal in Kurnool district Friday morning.
Mr Yadav, along with party Legislators, went to Bhanakacherla to review the progress of water projects in the area. That was when a swarm of honey bees attacked them.
The Minister suffered minor injuries, though MLA Katasani Rambhupal Reddy and few others suffered major injured.
The police personnel, accompanying the party, tried to rescue the VIPs form the attack, their efforts proved futile. The injured persons were rushed to the nearby hospital for first aid.
It may be recalled that over 20 police personnel of AP Special Party and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who were involved in anti-Maoists operations in Vizag agency in the reserve forest areas, were attacked by bees around a month back.
A senior police officer on condition of anonymity said that anti-Maoists forces are fear attacks by mosquitoes and bees as both are deadly.
Around a month ago, a woman from Vizag Agency died after she was attacked by honey bees when she was returning from a farm field.
