Beleaguered SVBC Chairman caught in Honey Trap

  • Woman organisations, colleagues demand ouster of tainted Prithviraj
  • Govt tells TTD to demand explanation

Vijayawada: The caste war has reached its peak in Andhra Pradesh. Sree Venkateshwara Bhakthi Channel (SVBC) Chairman Prithviraj, who reportedly made objectionable comments on a social section of Amaravati farmers, was subject to honey trap. An audio tape containing the conversation between him and a woman employee of the channel was leaked, just a day after Prithvi’s explanation over his comments on the subject ‘paid artists’, to another character actor Posani Krishnamurali.

In fact, Krishna Murali lambasted Prithviraj for his alleged comments on Kamma farmers in Amaravati Capital region. However, Prithviraj clarified that his intention was to blame only benamis of TDP leaders, who are agitating in the guise of famers. The confrontation has drawn the attention of the entire media, in the last couple of days and interestingly, the channels reportedly supporting the opposition TDP, have aired the news item with an audio clip, containing the conversation between the SVBC Chairman and the woman employee of the same channel.

In this conversation, both of them had a romantic conversation and nobody knows as to how this conversation tape reached the channels.

Prithvi has not been maintaining good vibes with a section of the employees of the channel. In fact, they started demanding his ouster from the top post. These circumstances helped the opposition TDP, to take advantage of the situation, as the opposition party has been trying to portray the TTD official machinery and ruling YSRCP as anti-Hindus.

Several attempts of TDP and its associate bodies to show that TTD is silent on the ‘promotion of Christianity’ on Tirumala Hills proved futile. Now they believe they are armed with the unlawful activities of SVBC Chairman on the pious hills.

Meanwhile, feeling the sting, the State Government has asked TTD authorities to seek an explanation from Prithviraj on the issue.

On the other hand, social media and vernacular channels have been highlighting the episode while women organisations have come onto the roads demanding Prithviraj’s immediate removal from the channel.
