Big B unveils poster of Jhund, asks fans to wait for release date

Hyderabad: Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary actor of India, has released the first-look poster of Jhund, one of the films he has in his kitty. The actor took to Twitter to share the poster in which he is seen standing in blue attire with his back towards the camera. Also, a red and white football and a rundown vehicle can also be seen against the backdrop of a slum.

Jhund is a sports drama based on the life story of Vijay Barse, the founder of NGO Slum Soccer. Producer Bhushan Kumar also took to Twitter to share the poster of the film and wrote, “Proud to bring you the first look of #Jhund, one of our most prestigious projects at @Tseries. It brings together the legendary @SrBachchan sir and @NagrajManjule. Teaser out on 21st January 2020.”

The film was announced in February last year by sharing a picture of Amitabh Bachchan being lifted in the air by a group of youngsters. Both the posters have gone viral, increasing expectations on the film. Directed by Nagraj Manjule, the film also has Akash Thosar and Rinku Rajguru in lead roles. This is the trio’s second collaboration after Marathi blockbuster Sairat, which was released in 2016.

The shoot of Jhund went on the floors in Nagpur in December 2018 and was wrapped up on August 31, 2019. There has been confusion about the release date since a long time as it has been postponed many times.

Bachchan, who hasn’t been keeping well in recent times, is taking rest as of now as doctors have asked him not to strain himself too much. Also, he has Brahmastra, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Mouni Roy up for release. He also has Chehre and Gulabo Sitabo lined up for release. He was last seen in megastar Chiranjeevi’s Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy.
