Bigg Boss 3 Tamil: Was Cauvery issue Madhumithas reason for self-harm?

Tamil Bigg Boss, Season 3 saw a shocking event as one of its strongest contestant Madhumitha left the house on Saturday.

When she was out at the dais to interact with Kamal Haasan, she was seen with a bandage on her wrist. Kamal Haasan, the host for the show, showed her a red card. He said that she was evicted for harming herself, without specifying the reason why.

No footage was shown and nothing discussed. It was eventually understood that she had self-harmed. This raised many eye-brows and few wondered if there would be a case booked against her and the producers of the show?

Close sources say that there was a fall out over a debate on the vexatious Cauvery issue between Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

During one of the tasks assigned to the inmates, Madhumitha commented that the rain Gods are like Karnataka, as they show partiality over Tamil Nadu. This sparked a debate with actress Sherin, another contestant who hails from Bengaluru.

After a war of words, all contestants including Cheran and Vanitha urged Madhumitha to take back her words. She resisted

and started making political statements. Eventually Bigg Boss had to intervene asking her not to talk politics in the show, as is it against the rules. But an adamant Madhumitha went ahead and to prove her point, tried to cut her wrist. After which she was

rushed to the hospital for treatment. She was later brought directly to the dais to interact with Kamal Haasan.

The show is filled with controversies this season. In the past, actor Saravanan, a strong contender, was evicted midway

after he boasted of groping women in buses when he was young. No explanation was given and he was told to leave the show. Now Madhumitha's eviction adds more contention. It may be recalled that Madhumitha's comments on Tamil culture and Tamil women sparked

debates in the earlier weeks.
