Bomb hoax to Hyderabad RGIA airport

Hyderabad: RGI Airport in Hyderabad was put on high alert after receiving a bomb threat mail from an anonymous sender. Security agencies were on guard as this triggered panic at the location. In the mail, the sender stated: “I want to blast bomb in the airport tomorrow.” All emergency mechanisms were immediately alerted and a high alert was sounded at the airport. However, the mail was declared non-specific.

DCP Shamshabad N Prakash Reddy said, "There is no threat. However, a case is registered and efforts are on to trace the original sender."

At 2.31pm, the customer support desk of the airport received a mail from sairamkaleru@live.com. All concerned agencies were instantly alerted. Furthermore, after thorough verification and detailed discussions with the airport management, the CISF, the police department and other agencies, the mail was found to be a hoax.

Officials said that anti-sabotage checks have been intensified and all precautionary measures are in place to thwart any untoward incidents.
