CBI claims conspiracy in Dr. Sudhakar incident, seeks more time from High Court

Visakhapatnam: The CBI which is probing the suspension of and assault on Narsipatnam-based anaesthetist Dr. K Sudhakar on 16 May this year told the High Court that there could be a conspiracy behind the entire episode.

The CBI told the court on 1 September that there appears to be a deep-rooted conspiracy behind Dr. Sudhakar’s revolt against the government, his suspension, and his strange behaviour on the streets of Visakhapatnam that led to his admission to a mental hospital for treatment. The CBI asked the High Court for more time to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.

The court gave the CBI time till November to submit its report with all details and pros and cons of the case. The case was adjourned to 16 November for further hearing.

It may be mentioned that the High Court had taken up the case suo motu and ordered a CBI inquiry into the case of Dr. Sudhakar who was suspended for allegedly talking to the media and complaining about the lack of face masks for doctors.
