Central Forensic Science Lab in Hyderabad closed  after 3 of its employees test +ve

Hyderabad: The Central Forensic Science Laboratory at Ramanthapur, Hyderabad, will be shut down for two days for complete sanitation, after three of the employees tested positive for Covid-19 on August 3.

The employees were sent home after they were showing symptoms of Covid-19. Upon testing, the three employees were confirmed to be COVID positive. The laboratory will be shut until the sanitation drive is complete, officials said.

The Central Forensic Science Laboratory, which falls under the Directorate of Forensic Science Services, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, is known to provide accurate and dependable services conforming to international standards of criminal justice.

“The whole building will be sanitised for the safety of all the officers and employees. The sanitation drive has begun and for the safety of the officers and employees, the office will be closed for two more days, August 4 and 5 for now,” said an official, while speaking to NewsMeter.

Last week, the Central Bureau of Investigation office at Koti was shut down for two days after seven of the employees tested positive, when the office had conducted a Rapid Antigen Test on all the staff of the office.

“Seven of the employees tested positive and the office was shut for two days for complete sanitation. Now, the office is open for the employees, who were not in contact with the seven COVID positive persons. The employees who were in direct contact with the seven persons were asked to go into self-isolation for 14 days,” told one of the officials of the CBI office to NewsMeter.
