Charminar police nab burglar, recover Rs. 31 Lakh cash

Hyderabad: The Charminar police arrested a burglar, 19-year-old Mohd. Nasir alias Mohammad, on 6 August and recovered cash worth more than Rs. 31 lakh.

They also seized a laptop, four wrist watches, two pairs of silver anklets, and cosmetics.

According to the police, Nasir, a resident of Hyderabad's Falaknuma, dropped out of school when he was in class III and started working in hotels and shops.

At present, he was making a living working as a salesman in Rikab Gunj, Charminar.

In the early hours of 4 August, Nasir broke into a neighbouring shop and stole Rs. 35 lakh in cash. Within hours, the Charminar police apprehended him with the help of CCTV footage.

He will be sent to judicial remand, the cops said. Earlier, he had been arrested for stealing cell phones.
