Cheating case filed against director Kona Venkat

Hyderabad: A cheating case was registered against famous Tollywood writer Kona Venkat at Jubilee police station in Hyderabad. A production company had approached the police alleging that Venkat had collected money from them as advance to provide a story for their new project. However, he failed to deliver the story and did not repay the amount.

According to police officials, Gemini VFX, a production house, approached Venkat for a story for their new project in 2017. Venkat agreed to the deal and took Rs 13.5 lakh as an advance for writing the story.

More than two years have passed, but Venkat did not deliver the story and was evading the production company. They learnt that he was in the US and requested him to repay the advance amount.

Despite repeated attempts, there was no response from the Dookudu writer on whether he will return the money or give them the story. After which, the representatives of the production house approached the police on Saturday to register a case.
