Chilkur temple gifts oxen to poor farmer

Hyderabad: Chilkur town in Moinabad Mandal has been in the forefront of promoting conventional, and the more economical, cultivating practices by helping upkeep dairy cattle. In keeping with this system, the Chilkur Balaji Temple goshala donated two sturdy and well-built oxen to a poor farmer, Narayana of Tharur mandal, Vikarabad.

The occasion was the grand Laguda Pratipat (bull worship) celebration organised by the temple.

The huge patronization of motors has resulted in most farmers going in for tractor furrowing as cattle care is turning into a costly affair. Despite the steady growth of Chilkur, a few farmers would still like to furrow cows as they are more motivated by soil pounding.

In order to help such farmers meet their needs and ensure that time-tested processes are in relevance, the Balaji temple authorities came up with this generosity that will help the likes of Narayana to survive.
