Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will launch the Dharani portal on 25 October, chief secretary Somesh Kumar announced on 17 October.

Mr. Kumar held a video conference with the district collectors, additional collectors, tehsildars, and Naib tehsildars and made a detailed presentation regarding the functioning of the portal.

Calling the portal “revolutionary”, the chief secretary said Dharani is the most innovative, state-of-the-art, accountable, and secure portal which will set a trend for the entire country. He said that as per the vision of the Chief Minister, the system will ensure transparency. Under the system, tehsildars of all the 570 mandals would function as joint sub-registrars, while the sub-registrar officers would be involved in registration of non-agriculture properties from 142 locations.

Mr. Kumar asked the collectors to ensure hundred per cent readiness in terms of staff and infrastructure for the Dharani portal. He also stressed that all tehsildars should undertake at least 10 transactions by Sunday. He also instructed the collectors to ensure that hardware facilities for Dharani are fully functional. Regular coordination meetings with Discom, broadband service providers, and TSTS representatives should be conducted to ensure that there is no interruption of services, he said.
