Commercial tax official caught accepting bribe

Hyderabad: An Assistant Commercial Tax officer working in Hyderabad was caught by the Anti Corruption Bureau. Shiva Kumar was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000 from a businessman.
Inquiries revealed that Shiva Kumar is posted at the office of the Deputy Commissioner in the commercial tax department located at Nampally in the city.
A city-based businessman, M Raji Reddy approached him for an audit report of his firm, for which Shiva Kumar demanded a bribe.
Though the initial amount was high, after bargains, the deal was settled for Rs 50,000. On Tuesday, when collecting the amount from the victim, ACB apprehended him.
