Congress will win Dubbak bypolls with huge majority: Uttam

Hyderabad/Dubbak: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president and MP Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy exuded confidence that Congress candidate Ch. Srinivas Reddy would win the Dubbak Assembly bypolls with a huge majority.

As part of electioneering, he addressed several meetings in Dubbak constituency on Thursday. Reddy said that the people of Dubbak would crush the arrogance of the TRS on November 3, the scheduled date of bye-elections.

He said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao was insulting the Dubbak electorate by trying to lure them with money and liquor. He alleged that KCR had accumulated huge wealth through commissions and corruption and that he was trying to distribute the same to the voters. He told the voters to accept cash and liquor offered by the TRS as it was public money but vote for the Congress candidate Srinivas Reddy only.

Uttam Kumar Reddy accused KCR of commercialising politics and degrading its status.

He alleged that the TRS chief used liquor and money heavily to win the gram panchayat, municipal, Assembly and Parliament elections. “In the TRS regime, corruption and manipulation of elections have become the new normal,” he added.

The TPCC chief said that KCR had cheated all sections of the society. “In 2014, the CM promised 12% reservation to STs and Muslims in jobs and education. Dalits were told that each family would be given 3 acres of land and a double-bedroom house but nothing has been done so far,” he said.

He reminded that the jobless youth were yet to receive the promised unemployment allowance of Rs. 3,016 per month, which was promised in 2014.

The TPCC chief accused the TRS government of snatching away lands from the poor and farmers in name of various projects. “Several projects were taken up only to benefit the contractors and get kickbacks even while the displaced have not been paid adequate compensation,” he said.

He exhorted the voters in Dubbak to compare the rule of TRS and Congress and then take wise decision before going to exercise their franchise.

At the same time, he appealed to the party cadre to strive for the Congress’ victory in Dubbak bypolls.

Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that the TRS was misusing the official machinery to win the bypolls and warned that the Congress would wage a war to prevent the ruling TRS leaders from violating the Model Code of Conduct.
