Conjoined twins Veena, Vani to get separate hall tickets

Hyderabad: The cloud of confusion over the SSC exams of the conjoined twins, Veena and Vani has been cleared by the School Education Department. The twins are going to get separate hall tickets and answer scripts as per their choice.

A higher official from the Hyderabad District Education Department said that the decision had been taken after talking to the twins. The official said that the students preferred to take the examination separately, following which the decision was taken.

The department officials also assured that they would take care to allot a suitable examination centre for the twins, where they would feel comfortable in attending their exam and they would be arranged with all the facilities required. If the need arises, a scribe will also be assigned for the students, said the District Education Officer.

The twins, who are now being taken care of by the District Welfare Office are preparing for the exams with the help of an in-house tutor appointed by the state government.

The hall tickets for their examination will be released in the second week of March 2020

The twins belong to Beerusettigudem village in Warangal. Their parents Mr Murali and Naga Lakshmi are daily wage workers in their native village and are not in a position to take care of the twins' educational needs or health. As a result, the state government is now taking care of the twins. The twins, who had turned 17 last October, will be writing their SSC exams this year.
