Constable misbehaves with woman, held

A police constable working with the Madannapet police station of the Hyderabad commissioner was arrested on Sunday for allegedly harassing and misbehaving with a woman on the main road at Vanasthalipuram of Rachakonda commissionerate, a few days ago. The constable T. Lingaswamy, 36 is currently under suspension, said, police officials.

Lingaswamy is from Nalgonda district and had joined the force in 2009. He was posted at Madannapet and since 2009 was working there. A year ago, he suddenly went missing and without informing or taking approval from anyone was absent from work for which he was placed under suspension.

Meanwhile, three days ago he came to Chintalkunta area in Vanasthalipuram and saw a woman, who he knew in the past. He began calling her continuously and even abused her over the phone. Later, he approached her and misbehaved with her on the main road. It is alleged that he even touched her inappropriately.

Police officials said, “Based on the woman's complaint, a case was registered and Lingaswamy was arrested.
