Cops save abandoned infant

Hyderabad: The KPHB police on Wednesday morning saved a newborn baby boy who was found abandoned near Pragathinagar lake. The baby has been taken to Rainbow Hospital for medical attention. On Wednesday morning, the police received a call informing that a baby has been left near Pragathinagar lake with a minor injury on his leg.

The KPHB mobile patrol police headed by police constable L. Prasad visited the site and took the baby to the hospital.

KPHB inspector S. Laxmi Narayana said, “The baby had a minor injury on one of his legs. Otherwise, his condition is stable. We have booked a case against unknown persons, under Sec 370.” The baby was found next to the Pragathinagar lake wrapped in a towel. He might be two-three days old, said L Prasad.

The newborn who is still in the hospital will be handed over to Sishu Vihar.
