Coronavirus: Exisiting Indian visas no longer valid for travellers from China

New Delhi: Two more positive cases of corona virus have been reported in India on March 2. Amid the coronavirus outbreak, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Indian government has released a revised travel advisory.

According to the new advisory, the existing visas (including eVisas already issued) are no longer valid for any foreign national travelling from China.

Intending visitors may contact the Embassy in Beijing or the Consulates in Shanghai and Guangzhou to apply afresh for an Indian visa.

People have already been advised to refrain from travel to China through an earlier advisory. The ministry further said people traveling to China henceforth will be quarantined on return.

Union Health minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan in a press briefing said that resh update, the Health Ministry confirmed that. One positive case is from Delhi, while the other is from Telangana. The Delhi case has a travel history from Italy and Telangana has a travel history from Dubai. The two new cases makes total positive in India to five.
