Hyderabad: Telangana's COVID-19 death toll reached 12 after the state reported one more death on 9 April. The state also reported 16 new cases on April 10th .

State health minister Eatala Rajender said at present there are 430 COVID-19 cases in the state, of which 385 are people who returned from Tablighi Jamaat Markaz. One person is under ventilator support, he said. “If there was no Markaz meeting in Delhi, Telangana would have been Corona-free,” he said, adding 665 samples were tested on Thursday, out of which 18 tested positive.

"Since the population density in Hyderabad is high, the necessary steps have been taken. There are 12 containment clusters. Also, we have identified 101 hotspots in the state,” he said.

He further said no community transmission has been detected in the state in the past four or five days. The government will arrange transport for dialysis and cancer patients if it is brought to the notice of the authorities, the minister said.
