Coronavirus: Sania Mirza urges fans to take care, stay safe

Hyderabad: Indian tennis player Sania Mirza, in a video, urged her fans to stay safe in the aftermath of the outbreak of the deadly Corona virus which has killed over 3,000 people in China.

India has reported 28 positive cases of Corona virus so far, while the results of two suspected cases from Telangana have been sent to NIV Pune. State health minister Eatala Rajender, during a media briefing, said that private hospitals in the state with isolation wards and experts can now treat Corona virus. He also said helpline number 104 is active from 4 March. A few schools in Mahendra Hills were closed over fears of the deadly virus as the first positive case from Telangana was reported there. The patient had recently travelled to Dubai.

Sania Mirza, in the video, said, “As you all know, a disease named Corona virus, originated from China and now has spread to many nations, according to the United Nations. In order to be safe, we can take a few measures. The symptoms are fever, cold and cough, and difficulty in breathing. If you are suffering from any of these, please consult the doctor. A helpline number has also been issued, which is 104."

She further said, "We can be safe from this disease by washing our hands thoroughly or using a hand sanitiser. If you have symptoms, keep yourself under isolation and don’t keep much contact with people.”

Amidst the outbreak of the deadly Corona virus in several Indian cities, including Hyderabad, the ministry of health and family welfare has come up with basic preventive measures. The government of Telangana has also come up with a few basic safety precautions.
