Coronavirus: Section 144 imposed in Nellore

Nellore: The district collector, M.V Seshagiri Babu, imposed Section 144 of the CrPC on 23 March in Nellore in view of the Corona virus outbreak in Andhra Pradesh. The move comes after orders from both the Central and state governments to maintain social distance to prevent further spread of the virus. The orders will be in force till 31 March. All religious, educational, political, or any social functions and rallies have been prohibited in the entire district from Monday with immediate effect.

Telangana and Andhra both has reported local transmission of coronavirus cases. Apart from Nellore Cities like Vizag, Mumbai Pune, and many others have also imposed curfew. In Telangana people have been asked to stay at their houses only one can go in two-wheeler, while two can go in four-wheeler.

Kerala in a single day recorded 28 cases, taking the total in the state to 94 positive cases as of March 23. Now Maharashtra stands second with 91 positive cases.
