Couple, 10 YO crushed to death on Vijayawada-Hyderabad National highway

Vijaywada: A couple and their 10-year-old child were killed when a speedy SUV hit them on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad National highway in the Suryapet district on Friday evening.
The incident happened when the victims parked their vehicle on the roadside and got down to take a break.
According to police, the victims belonged to Interu village Kruthivennu Mandal of Krishna district in Andhra Pradesh. Five people were travelling to Hyderabad in their car.
As they reached Moddulacheruvu village in Suryapet district, they stopped for a break. All the family members alighted from the vehicle, while the driver stayed in the car.
As they were relaxing on the road, a speeding SUV crushed them before crashing into the car. The couple and their child died on the spot, while another person received injuries. The car driver escaped unhurt in the incident.
Suryapet district police registered a case against the SUV driver and started the investigation. Police said over speeding and rash driving led to the accident.
