COVID 19: Andhra Pradesh fourth state after Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, New Delhi to record one lakh cases

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh has become the fourth state after Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and New Delhi to record one lakh Covid-19 cases.

Andhra Pradesh recorded 6,051 new Covid-19 cases taking the overall tally to 1, 02,349.

It was on July 20 that Andhra Pradesh surpassed 50,000 Covid-19 cases and in seven days the state has added 50,000 new cases.

The state has tested 43,127 samples over the last 24 hours. So far 16, 86,446 samples have been tested in the state. Around 3,234 persons have been discharged from hospitals in the last 24 hours. So far 49,558 persons have been discharged in the state.

The state also recorded 49 Covid-19 deaths in the past 24 hours taking the toll to 1,090.

Andhra Pradesh reported its first Covid-19 case on March 12 after a student who returned to Nellore from Italy tested positive for the virus.

The number of active cases drastically increased in the past few days. Around 51,701 patients are undergoing treatment.

East Godavari district has once again reported a large number of 1,210 cases. It is followed by Guntur with 744 cases, Kurnool with 664 cases, Vizag with 655 cases, Anantapur with 524 cases, Nellore with 422 cases, and West Godavari with 408 cases.

East Godavari continues to top the list with 14,696 cases in the state followed by Kurnool with 12,234 cases, Guntur with 10,747 cases and Anantapur with 10,247 cases.
