Covid-19 cases cross 600 mark in Andhra Pradesh, 31 more confirmed

Vijayawada: With two more deaths due to COVID-19 reported in Andhra Pradesh on Saturday, the toll due to coronavirus in the State has reached 16.

Meanwhile, the number of COVID positive cases crossed the 600 mark touching 603 on Saturday with 31 more testing positive. On a positive note, seven more patients cured of the infection were discharged from hospitals in the State. The total number of cured cases are 42 now.

The officials of the medical and family welfare department said one patient died in Krishna district, while the other a 60-year-old died in Kurnool district of the State.

Of the 31 new COVID-19 cases, Krishna district registered 17 cases while Kurnool district reported six cases, three cases were reported in Nellore district, two cases each were reported in East Godavari and Prakasam districts and one case was reported in West Godavari district.

With six more new COVID-19 cases, Kurnool district now has 132 cases and tops the table in the State followed by Guntur district with 125 cases and Krishna district with 70 cases. So far Krishna district has reported five COVID-19 deaths while Guntur reported four deaths, Kurnool registered three deaths and two deaths each were reported in Nellore and Anantapur districts of the State.
