COVID-19 death toll increases to 62 in Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh reported 110 Covid-19 cases on Sunday even as the Covid-19 death toll increased to 62 with two more deaths. With 110 fresh Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, the total number of Covid-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh rose to 3,571, including 418 patients from other states and 111 foreign returnees.

The Covid-19 deaths were reported from Krishna and Chittoor districts, one each, in the state. A total of 9,370 samples were tested in the last 24 hours in Andhra Pradesh.

The officials of the medial and family welfare department said that a total of 51 patients, including 8 migrant workers, recovered from the virus and discharged from various hospitals in the state in the last 24 hours.

The total number of those recovered from the virus in the state now stands at 2,332, including 197 people from others states. The number of active Covid-19 cases in Andhra Pradesh is now at 1,177 (845 from Andhra Pradesh, 221 and 111 from other states and foreign returnees respectively).

Kurnool district has reported 23 Covid-19 deaths followed by Krishna district with 18 deaths and Guntur district with 8 deaths.

Nellore and Anantapur districts reported four Covid-19 deaths each while East Godavari and Chittoor districts reported two deaths each. Visakhapatnam district reported one death.

Andhra Pradesh continues to lead the table among the states in the conduct of Covid-19 tests per million.
