COVID-19: EFLU postpones Undergraduate entrance exams

Hyderabad: The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) has postponed its entrance examinations for various undergraduate courses. The exams scheduled to be held on April 12 have been postponed until further notice, the university said.

The decision was taken as a precautionary measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic. “In compliance with the guidelines provided by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to contain the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) the epidemic, the entrance tests for admission to various undergraduate courses offered by The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) for the academic year 2020-21, scheduled for 12 April 2020, are postponed,” officials said.

New dates will be announced on official website http://efluniversity.ac.in later.

EFLU had earlier conducted its entrance examinations for post-graduate courses on February 29 and March 1. The results were scheduled to be declared by the third week of April.

However, given the COVID-19 crisis, the entrance exam process is likely to be postponed. Earlier, EFLU Hyderabad had suspended teaching on March 19 and asked students to leave the campus as a preventive measure.

The EFLU entrance exams are held for admission in different UG programmes at its three campuses in Hyderabad, Shillong and Lucknow.

Till March 28, 19 people have died due to COVID-19 in the country. Around 826 patients have been tested positive, as per the data provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
