COVID-19: Eight guards of Telangana Home Minister Mahmood Ali test positive

Hyderabad: Eight home guards deputed for the security of Telangana Home Minister Mahmood Ali have been tested positive for COVID 19.

Four of them tested positive two days ago. Test reports of the other four came back positive on Wednesday. All of them have been put under isolation. According to sources, the test reports of the Minister are awaited.

Though the exact source of the infection could not be found, health officials suspect that one of the visitors at home minister’s residence might have been infected by the virus.

Initially, four security personnel posted at the home minister’s residence in the old city of Hyderabad were tested positive.

Later all the security and other staff working for the home minister were tested as a precautionary measure. Test reports of four guards came back positive on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, around 40 persons working at RBVRR Telangana State Police Academy in Himayath Sagar were also tested positive for COVID 19.

Likewise, around sixteen workers at the Directorate of Public Health and Family Welfare were also tested positive in the last two days. They were involved in door to door survey and other sensitization programmes.
