COVID-19 positive cases increase to 4, 813 in Andhra Pradesh

Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh reported 154 fresh Covid-19 cases on Monday, taking the total number of cases to 4,813 in the state. No new deaths due to the virus were reported in the state and the death toll remained at 75 in the last 24 hours.

The officials of the medical and family welfare department said that a total of 14,246 samples were tested from the state in the last 24 hours and of them, 125 tested positive. The officials said that another 28 people who returned to parts of Andhra Pradesh from other states and one foreign returnee tested positive taking the cumulative total of fresh cases in the state to 154 on Monday.

As many as 51 patients, including 16 who returned from other states and one foreign returnee, recovered from the infection and were discharged from the hospital in the state in the last 24 hours.

The total number of those recovered from Coronavirus in the state now stands at 2,711, including 318 people from other states and six foreign returnees. The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the state stands at 2,027 (1,381 from Andhra Pradesh, 520 and 126 from other states and foreign returnees respectively).

On the Covid-19 toll front, Kurnool district has reported 28 Covid-19 deaths (highest in the state) followed by Krishna district with 23 deaths and Guntur district with 9 deaths. Four deaths each were recorded in Nellore, Chittoor and Anantapur districts while East Godavari district reported two deaths and Visakhapatnam district reported one death.
