Hyderabad: The total tally of Covid-19 positive cases in Telangana climbed to 84,544 on 11th August. 1,897 more people tested positive for the virus on the day, says the data released by the Department of Public Health and Family Welfare.
Meanwhile, 1,920 citizens recovered from the virus on Tuesday, taking the tally of total recoveries in the state to 61,294. The state currently has 22,596 active cases of Covid-19.
The government has tested 22,972 citizens for the virus on the day, taking the total tests to 6,65,847. Samples tested per million population stand at 17,934.5.
The recovery rate, as per the government, now stands at 72.49 per cent, which is approximately 3 per cent higher than the national average of 69.79 per cent.
A total of 9 people succumbed to the virus on the day, taking the fatality rate of COVID in the state to 0.77 per cent. Altogether, 654 citizens have succumbed to the virus. The fatality rate in the state is lower than the national average of 1.99 per cent.
15,534 are under placed under home isolation. Of those, 84 per cent are asymptomatic cases with no severe signs of distress.
According to the state, men aged 31 to 40 years now contribute to 17.2 per cent of the total cases. As for women, those aged between 21 to 30 have the highest infection rate and contribute to 8.1 per cent of the total cases.
The percentage in deaths due to comorbidities has risen to 53.87 per cent, while those due to only Covid-19 are 46.13 per cent.
Vacancy of beds:
The state currently has 17,782 vacant beds for COVID patients.
There are 11,517 isolation beds, 4,414 oxygen beds, and 1,851 ICU beds vacant at state hospitals
