COVID cases climb to 1177 in Andhra Pradesh, 7 patients critical

Vijayawada, April 27 : The hot beds of coronavirus in Andhra Pradesh continued to register new positive Covid-19 cases in the last few days. The number of infected people shot up to 1,177 with addition of 80 new cases in the last 24 hours in Andhra Pradesh.

Fortunately, for the second consecutive day, no Covid-19 deaths were reported in Andhra Pradesh. The death toll remained at 31 in the state. Krishna district which has emerged a new hot bed of Covid-19 cases in the state, crossed the double century mark with a total of 210 cases, as 33 new positive cases were registered on Monday, the third highest in the state.

Kurnool district has reported 13 more new cases on Monday and remained in the top position in the state with 292 cases. Guntur district stood in the second place with 237 cases, as 23 new cases add to the existing number.

Srikakulam registered one more Covid-19 case and the total reached 4 in the district. Meanwhile, four more patients recovered from Covid-19 and have been discharged in the last 24 hours, taking the total number of cured people to 235.

AP has a total of 911 active Covid-19 cases undergoing treatment in various hospitals. Official sources said seven of them are admitted to the ICU and are in a critical condition.

Vizianagaram district in North Andhra Pradesh continued to maintain a clean slate with zero cases till date.

A total of 6,517 samples were tested from 9 am on Sunday to 9 am on Monday of which 80 turned positive and the remaining tested negative.
