Cricket Game Turns Ugly, 13-year-old Dead

Visakhapatnam : A fight over a game of cricket on a street, led to the death of a 13-year-old boy M. Vijay at Madhavadhara area under the Airport police station limits in Vizag city.

The police said that M. Vijay was playing cricket with some of his friends near his home at Madhavadhara on Sunday evening. As Vijay was playing excellent shots, a friend of his got angry and hit the victim on the stomach with a cricket bat.

Soon after the incident, Vijay collapsed on the street, he was admitted to a private hospital in Vizag city, where he died in the early hours on Tuesday. Doctors said that Vijay died of a blood clot.

Vijay’s parents lodged a complaint with police on Tuesday night. The police are examining the complaint to register a case as the boy who beat Vijay is also a minor and that there was no intention to kill Vijay.
