Bad road kills young woman in Warangal, no response from government

Hyderabad: In yet another incident of bad roads leading to the death of motorists, a young woman died at Warangal in Telangana. The event exposed the official apathy in the maintenance of roads and its poor condition all over the state. Earlier, there have been several accidents in different parts of the state, including Hyderabad that occurred due to bad roads, potholes, killing people. Many incidents where people are injured never come to the notice of the public or government agencies.

22-year-old Boddu Prasoona, the only daughter to Prasad and Nakshatra, has been running a veterinary medical shop at Kazipet. On Wednesday morning, she was on her way to Warangal to purchase stocks for her shop. Midway, while driving on Hunter city road at Hanamkonda, a lorry hit her scooter from behind after the driver lost control due to bad roads. Prasoona sustained a severe head injury and died on the spot.

After the incident, the public expressed their anger on social media, questioning officials and the government for being negligent towards the maintenance of roads in the tri-cities — Warangal, Hanamkonda, and Kazipet. However, there was no response on the issue from the government or the departments concerned.

Meanwhile, the police registered an accidental death case and started an investigation.
