Missing Hyderabad techie calls to tell suicide intentions, remains untraced

Hyderabad: Mystery shrouds the disappearance of Phalguna Vinay Kumar, a 26-year-old HR executive working with an MNC in Madhapur after he called his brother-in-law and informed that he was going to commit suicide. His mobile was switched-off, immediately after the call. It was found that he was upset after a minor argument with his father over some financial issues.

According to police, the Krishna district native moved to the city in search of a job a year ago. He was residing with his sister and brother-in-law at Kukatpally. Seven months ago, he got a job as an HR executive in an MNC.

Meanwhile, he went to his parents a week ago and returned to Hyderabad on Monday. Friday morning, like every day, he left home to work. Around 11.30 pm the same day, he called his brother-in-law Veera Hanuman uttered the only sentence about his intended suicide and disconnected the call. When Veera Hanuman tried calling back immediately, the phone was found to be switched off.

Worried, he immediately informed his wife and inquired at Vinay Kumar’s office, where he was told that he had left the office around 9.30 pm.

They then searched at some hotels near the office and inquired with his parents and friends, but in vain. Finally, on Saturday, they lodged a complaint with KPHB police.

Enquiries revealed that from Madhapur, he came towards KPHB via JNTU junction. The last location of his mobile was shown near JNTU. Police registered a case and started a probe.
