Hyderabad: Upset over being scolded by his mother for not going to college regularly, a teenager went missing from his home at KPHB here.

The missing boy B Laxmi Sai Bhargav Reddy took his father’s Honda City car (TS 08FH 3060) on Friday morning and did not return home till late Saturday night.

According to police, the father Bhoomireddy Chandramohan Reddy is a private contractor. His only son Laxmi Sai Bhargav is studying Intermediate at Narayana College at Madhapur.

On Friday morning, he did not go to college. When his mother enquired, he gave a lame excuse. His mother scolded him and cautioned him that going to college was crucial as the final examinations are likely to be in March.

Upset with his mother’s remarks, he left home. A couple of hours later, his mother realised that he was not at home and he had taken his father’s car. Immediately, she alerted her husband.

They presumed that he would return soon once he came out of his anger. However, they found that his mobile phone was switched off. The panic-stricken parents, called up his friends, relatives and even at college, but no one had any idea about his whereabouts.

Worried about his safety, they lodged a complaint with KPHB police station, who registered a missing case and started a search operation. Further investigation is underway, said, police officials.
