Hyderabad: Police have booked a senior pilot for allegedly sexually assaulting a 26-year-old woman pilot working with a private aviation company.

According to Begumpet Police, a 26-year-old woman pilot working with a private aviation company filed a complaint alleging sexual assault by a senior colleague during a layover in Bengaluru on November 18.

In her complaint, the victim stated that she operated a flight from Begumpet to Bengaluru on the evening of November 18. After landing, she and the senior pilot, identified as 60-year-old Rohit Saran, checked into a hotel on MG Road (Hyatt Centric). Around 6 p.m., both stepped out to explore nearby cafés and restaurants. As they were on duty and had a scheduled flight the following day, they returned to the hotel after a short outing.

She further stated that a hotel staff member informed them about a smoking area on the same floor. When they went there, the accused allegedly led her into his room. The moment they entered, he reportedly shut the door and tried to force himself on her. He then tried to touch her inappropriately. According to the complaint, he attempted to remove her undergarments.

The victim told police that she was crying and repeatedly pleaded with him to stop. She eventually gathered the strength to push him away before running out of the room in shock, leaving behind her uniform undercoat and heels.

After securing herself in her room, she immediately informed her organization, following which the incident was escalated internally. Upon returning to Hyderabad on Friday, she approached Begumpet Police, where a zero FIR was registered. The case has been transferred to Halasuru Police Station in Bengaluru City, as the alleged incident occurred within their jurisdiction.

Police have initiated further investigation.
