Cyberabad police book two Chinese nationals, Naga friend for lockdown violation

Hyderabad: Cyberabad police booked two Chinese citizens and their friend from Nagaland for violating the lockdown at Sanath Nagar in Hyderabad on Thursday night.

The trio was traveling in a car when they were stopped by police at Moosapet checkpoint. On inquiry, they told police that they were going to Patancheru to meet a friend. Since it was not an emergency, police detained and booked them for violating the lockdown.

The youngsters in their mid-20s were residing at Bongulur on the city outskirts. They are the students of a University in the city. They had been staying in the city since August 2019. Further, they did not have any recent travel history, police said.

Later, they were taken to the police station and their vehicle was seized. A case under sections 188, 269, 270 and 271 of the IPC, Disaster Management Act and Epidemic Diseases Act was registered against all three. Later notices were also served to them.
